Editorial policy
Our goal is to give students accurate, useful and independent information about studying in the UK.
Sourcing
We compile university and course data from official and open sources. Courses, UCAS course codes (undergraduate only), durations and published tuition figures come from Discover Uni, the official UK-wide course dataset produced with HESA data. For universities in England we also use the Office for Students (OfS) register for the provider’s UKPRN, Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) rating, degree-awarding powers and website. Institutional facts such as founding year and official identifiers come from Wikidata, and QS World University Rankings positions are taken from Wikidata statements (the ranking edition is not recorded, so we label them “per Wikidata”) and only applied where an institution genuinely holds one. Visa, fee and immigration guidance is written from gov.uk and the universities’ own published information; always check gov.uk before you apply.
What we will not publish
We do not invent numbers. Where a provider has not published a fee, a founding year or a student count, the field stays empty and the page says so rather than showing an estimate dressed up as a fact. Programme records are never generated. Every course on this site exists in the official Discover Uni data, and where a UCAS course code exists we show it so you can check it yourself. International tuition fees are not published in any open dataset, so we show none rather than estimate one.
Review & freshness
Records are reviewed regularly. Each university page shows when it was last updated, and we flag data that needs re-verification internally.
Independence
Commercial relationships (advertising, affiliates, lead generation) never influence the factual content, ordering methodology or which universities we include.
Careful language
We avoid guarantees such as “guaranteed admission” or “guaranteed visa”. We describe universities factually, “ranked highly by…”, “known for…”, “popular among…”.
